There was going to be a short bio here...

Who is this guy?

I do a lot of thinking and hanging out with people who think, write, and act. I spent a number of decades doing some fun things. I got to co-create and entertain at events like Catalyst, Orange and Kidstuf. I got to help create NorthPoint Community Church and was given the title there of “The Enhancer”.

I was the Founder of Bigstuf Conferences and The 410 Bridge. I created a production company and wrote a bizarre little book… and… I got to single-handedly save an undiscovered village deep in the forest of the Amazon from devastation and annihilation with just a hammer, a ball of twine and a slinky. Ok…so maybe the thing about the undiscovered village in the Amazon isn’t true. I just wanted to see if I could spell annihilation without spellcheck, and I wanted to mention a slinky in my bio. But the bottom line is, I got to do some things that I couldn’t have imagined back when I was a kid growing up in the village of Bluford, Illinois. But I eventually got kinda tired, and a few years ago it was time to take a break. I’d gone through a bout with cancer, a few surgeries on my spine, my knees, my achilles tendon, a few hernias, cataracts, sciatica, a pulmonary embolism, chronic pain and a divorce. So I needed a rest.

All three sons had found themselves in the film industry in the Los Angeles area, which was clear across the country from my home in Georgia. A few years ago one of my sons said, “Dad, you are 70 now, and we usually only get to see you once a year. If you should live till you are 85, then we may only see you 15 times before you die.” He knew what would capture my heart, so, within a few weeks of that conversation I boarded a plane for the west coast and bought a house close to all three sons.

The last few years have been transformative. I was working on some ideas of producing new shows to entertain and get people thinking about deep topics. Then, I watched from my deck as the skies turned orange and I had to evacuate my house as the flames engulfed most of my little town of Altadena. It’s been over a year since the fire and my life is still a bit unsettled. I am presently in an apartment where I can walk to theaters, restaurants, coffee shops, doctors offices, etc here in Pasadena. It’s not at all like my house on the mountain where I could fly my drone and watch my bear come and inspect my garbage every week. But I like it.

When I originally wrote this bio I wrote this: “My greatest loves are my three sons and my dog, Max…a shepherd/husky whose intellect continues to surprise me, and the two of us live on a mountain overlooking the City of Angels.” As you know now, though, I no longer overlook the City of Angels. And unfortunately I no longer have Max with me. Circumstances after the fire changed a number of things in life. But…I still have my 3 sons and they are the biggest joy of my life. So, all of the Donoho boys are in LA and the young ones are helping this old one figure out how to make sense while I explore the Voices in my Head and interview some of the people who keep my brain interested in life. I hope you explore this web page. If you know me then there may be pictures or videos of you on these pages. If you spend more than an hour on here then you probably have been one of the voices in my head, and thanks for your influence. I won’t say anymore here but I will see you in the scrapbook or the file cabinet or who knows…maybe in my studio…
